7  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a ^dlamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

  3  And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he ^aanswered nothing.

  9  And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no ^aanswer.

  23  Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

  6  And after all this, after working many mighty miracles among the children of men, he shall be led, yea, even as Isaiah said, as a sheep before the shearer is dumb, so he ^bopened not his mouth.

  19  But I was like a ^alamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

  9  Then he questioned with him in many words; but he ^aanswered him nothing.

  4  When Joseph went to Carthage to deliver himself up to the pretended requirements of the law, two or three days previous to his assassination, he said: "I am going like a ^alamb to the slaughter; but I am calm as a summer's morning; I have a conscience void of offense towards God, and towards all men. I shall die innocent, and it shall yet be said of me—he was murdered in cold blood."—The same morning, after Hyrum had made ready to go—shall it be said to the slaughter? yes, for so it was—he read the following paragraph, near the close of the twelfth chapter of Ether, in the Book of Mormon, and turned down the leaf upon it:
