1  And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the ^bfire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

  14  And their arm shall be my arm, and I will be their shield and their buckler; and I will gird up their loins, and they shall fight manfully for me; and their enemies shall be under their feet; and I will let fall the sword in their behalf, and by the ^efire of mine indignation will I preserve them.

  40  Therefore was the ^awrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

  10  And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

  17  And the Lord said unto Noah: My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for he shall know that all flesh shall die; yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years; and if men do not repent, I will send in the ^dfloods upon them.

  24  Behold, the great day of the Lord is at hand; and who can abide the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner's ^dfire, and like fuller's soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Let us, therefore, as a church and a people, and as Latter-day Saints, offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness; and let us present in his holy temple, when it is finished, a book containing the records of our dead, which shall be worthy of all acceptation.
